Cooking Up Some Love

December 7, 2009 by favorchic

When I got married my sister sent out recipe cards with the shower invitations…out of 30+ invites I think that I got 2 recipes/recipe cards back.

Gathering recipes for a bride is a long standing tradition. It may not be very prevalent where you live, but it is still a great idea with a practical goal. So why not gather some wonderful recipes for the bride to be? Any why should the brides get all the good stuff? This is a great idea for a baby shower too. Have the guests fill out their child’s favorite recipes, a recipe that freezes well, or a homemade baby food recipe.

We all know that the best recipes out there are the ones that one has memorized (it means that they use them frequently). Use these place card holders to prompt the guests to jot out their favorite recipes. You can even make this an activity of the shower. What a wonderful “gift” to present to the guest of honor.
